17th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film



Is now open for submissions!

With an enthusiastic audience, a unique location and countless international guests, the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) is a regular fixture and outstanding event on the international animation scene. Industry professionals value the numerous workshops, lectures, information meetings, and presentations as they provide a unique opportunity to make contacts and familiarize oneself with the latest developments. The competitive sections with prize money of over 50.000 Euros, attract the best and newest animation films from around the world. Since its foundation in 1982, the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film has provided continual support to artistic animated film and to young talents. With the Animation Production Day (APD) a joint venture from the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film, FMX and Michael Schmetz Mediaconsult, the Festival provides another important business platform.

You are kindly invited to submit films produced after October 01, 2008 to one of the Festival's competition categories.

Please note the following entry deadlines.
December 01, 2009 for the categories:

International Competition
Young Animation (International student film competition)
Tricks for Kids (International competition for children's film)
AniMovie (International feature film competition)


January 15, 2010 for the category:
Under Commission (International competition for commissioned film)

From October 10, 2009 you can register your film online and upload the film at Reelport.

The Life Animation Competition Crazy Horse Session – The 48h 3D Jam addresses to animation students from international film and art schools as well as independent animators and animation producers aged 30 years or younger. Five teams, each with two members, must develop an animated film within 48 hours.

The competition will start at midday on Wednesday, May 05 and will end at midday on Friday, May 07.
